Frontline Missionaries

We believe everyone everywhere deserves
to know and hear about the love of Jesus.

You can DOUBLE your impact for frontline missionaries before Dec. 2!

Frontline Friday is our way of spreading awareness about what Cru’s frontline missionaries experience and how you can make an impact.

But what is a frontline missionary?

A frontline missionary is someone who shares the message of Jesus in areas with “high” or “extreme” evangelistic restrictions. They often lack financial and social support because expressing their faith in Jesus is met with hostile governments, physical danger, remote areas, or cultural resistance.

Frontline missionaries are serving in some of the most challenging places, telling people about Jesus. They trust God has sent them there and will not let government pushback or dangerous conditions stop them.

And God is moving even in countries closed to the gospel. Frontline missionaries are seeing people encounter the love of Christ in the darkest places. There has been a multitude of student-led movements, undercover evangelism and a deep hunger for discipleship.

Many frontline staff experience challenges far beyond what we experience in the US. Adversities, such as severe poverty, natural disasters, persecution, health crises, civil unrest and even war, make it incredibly challenging to stay on the field.

However, despite these setbacks, there are still over 16,000 frontline missionaries in 153 countries. Many of whom have witnessed thousands of people come to know Jesus and understand the hope of the gospel.

God’s heart is still pursuing unreached people groups.

FAQ:

1.) What does the “Frontline Missionary Support” help cover?

These funds provide essential personal support subsidies for frontline missionaries working in regions where raising financial support is extremely challenging. Your gift today can help them continue their vital work amidst severe economic instability, cultural resistance and dangerous conditions.

2.) What does Cru consider the “frontlines”?

In Cru’s context, the "frontlines" refer to the most challenging and unreached areas on earth where sharing about Jesus and raising funds is extremely difficult. These areas include countries with hostile governments, regions with civil unrest or war, culturally resistant societies, and remote locations. They often lack support from family and friends and struggle to sustain their work without external help.

3.) What are the 60 countries with “high” or “extreme” evangelistic restrictions?

To protect the safety and security of our frontline staff members, we cannot disclose the specific names of the 60 countries. Additionally, the number of countries can change as war erupts, natural disasters occur, and government policies evolve.

4.) How can I help frontline missionaries?

You can support them through prayer and by giving financially to the Frontline Missionary Support to ensure they receive the help they need exactly when they need it most.

Thank you for learning about how God is moving through our frontline staff!
